Schedule Change October 9

I’d suggest making notes of these changes as they come in.   I tend to forget about them once I’ve posted and may forget to send out a reminder the day before:

CORONATION STREET will be seen early at 3:30 p.m. in Quebec, Ontario and Manitoba and at 3 p.m. in Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia on Thursday, October 9. (Newfoundland and the Maritimes are unaffected.) CBC’S HOCKEY NIGHT IN CANADA presents a special mid-week doubleheader to celebrate the NHL’s opening day in North America.

Ah, welcome to the new world where Alex Trebek rules the CBC. In the old days, the Corrie episode would have been pre-empted, and we would have had two episodes on another evening that week. But given Jeopardy, they can no longer double-up on Corrie like they used.

I don’t mind the change, as the PVR will tape the episode regardless of when it airs. Those of us without PVRs, or whose VCR skills are questionable, may have greater challenges.

For once, it does not totally suck to live in the Maritimes.
