Obscure Pop Culture Reference of the Day

Last night, as Mel Morton prepares for her first official day as a copper, Jerry tells her, in a bad American accent, “Hey, let’s be careful out there.” Mel looks at him blankly, not getting the reference.

The line belonged to Sgt. Esterhaus, a character from the hit 1980’s police drama, Hill Street Blues. It was what he said to the staff after each morning’s roll call.

Hi Corrie fans. I just found you here. I’m excited to connect with Canadian Corrie fans! I’m from Detroit and my bf got me into the show about three years ago.

I’m worried about Mel! I have this feeling something bad is going to happen to her–maybe because of what Theresa did.

Also, even though I love Darryl and Amber, isn’t she a little too smart for him?

And I’m worried about Kevin’s garage. (How scary is Tony?)
