Where My Updates At?!!

Summer-Break

Hello my darlings….

I’m sure you’re all wondering what has happened to your regularily scheduled updates.   Well, there’s a good explanation for that, between all the updaters we’ve had/are going to have home renos, paternity leaves, holidays, etc., etc., etc..

While we typically don’t take a summer break, I think this year we might need to just to give all the updaters time to do the things we need to do.

So what does this mean to the blog?  Well, I’ve asked the lovley Flamin’ Nora  if we could once again lift her weekly updates and post them at the end of the week so that everyone knows what’s going on.     That doesn’t mean there won’t be ANY Corrie Canuck goodness, we’re still going to post as the muse inspires,  fun facts, trivia, and certainly if we get a chance I think there may be updates on the show –  but it just means that there won’t be regular daily updates until the end of the summer.

I hope you can hang in there with us because you the readers are what make this site so fabulous.   We promise to come back fully charged and raring to go!

Oh and just as a quick note, I think it’s still fair game to discuss anything that has been aired during the week so please feel free to gab/chat about the happenings of Weatherfield.  😉

I’ll miss the updates and the laughs and hope we can still post our comments and thoughts about the current story lines.

Right now I’m wondering if Theresa will ever leave or get what’s coming to her.

Is Prem trying a little matchmaking between Dev and the daughter? Isn’t he too old for her?

Will Kevin ever beat Tony? Or at least get his business back on track?

Corrie seems to be picking up a bit this week so I hope we can still continue with the comments.

    • corrierules says:

Why would Prem be trying to match Tara to Dev? Ok, Dev owns a chain of shops… but he is divorced, much older than Tara, and a father of several children with different baby-mamas. Not exactly a catch!

      • missusmac says:

I think Prem sees Dev as the son he never had. And if Dev is anything to go by, some men value the male gender of offspring, more than the female.

Prem may think Dev is a great son-in-law: mature, yet moldable to Prem’s wishes! Other than the twins and Amber, no one has mentioned the million other children he has.

The daughter surprised me. She seemed quite sweet, not the drama queen her mother made her out to be.

Haili….yes please, please continue with comments! I forgot to add that bit to the notice.

  3. Bea says:

All I can say is you guys deserve a break…….enjoy the summer,

    oh, and Fiz, ruuuuuuuuuuunnnnnnnnnnnnnn

  5. Westcoast Corrie says:

    Enjoy a very well-deserved break!

  6. haili says:

John showed his true colours last night when he was trying to move Fizz away from her friends. I was so glad she saw through it and dumped him.

If anyone wants to spread the news around the street, Lloyd is the town crier!

    • Bea says:

I was ticked off at John when he gave Fiz that big bouquet of flowers in front of all her friends. She hadn’t told them anything yet about getting back together with John. I don’t even know if she had totally decided yet.

I think it was John’s way of giving them all the finger, so to speak. Kind of like a wolf pi$$ing on a tree.

He didn’t care if it embarrased Fiz, or put her in a difficult situation with her work buddies. I mean, how do you get mad at a guy who is giving you flowers. BIG flowers. Over the top flowers. If it was just a gesture of love, he would have given them to her privately.

John is so manipulative. He just buggs me. I just know their relationship is going to be off again-on again for a while. Fiz senses evil, but she isn’t listening to her gut feelings.

John actually scares me. He is like the kind of guy who becomes a stalker or abusive after he has the girl hooked.

Now, I’m going to go have some coffee!! ;o(

      • missusmac says:

Hey Bea, you called that one!

“John actually scares me. He is like the kind of guy who becomes a stalker or abusive after he has the girl hooked.”

  7. haili says:

Bea: I totally agree. John was marking his territory in front of all her friends and rubbing their noses in it. I wouldn’t trust him as far as I could throw him – which should be to the curb.

  8. beanie says:

Fizz has been looking lovely lately.

  9. lk says:

Did John lose his teaching lisence for his affair with Rosie? This was never addressed in the show.

  10. Barbie says:

Thanks for the head’s up Glacia, of course you all deserve a break. I was afraid that you had disappeared forever and that was a horrible thought, I love this site and my Corrie friends.
And I agree, I was thinking yesterday how pretty Fizz looked, and Maria too. Maria and Liam seem to be quite happy and dare I say normal lately. I hope they last as a couple for a few years at least.

  11. Gayle says:

Glacia thanks for posting. I was worried something bad had happened and the site was discontinued. I really enjoy it here and love reading the comments. I am so glad Fizz dumped John, I adore her and John gives me the creeps. As my Grandma used to say “he’s too sweet to be wholesome”.

To all the updaters enjoy your well deserved rest and have a wonderful summer!

    • Long time lurker says:

That was my concern as well – that the site would be discontinued. I wish you all a wonderful summer and look forward to your new posts starting in the fall.

  12. isis says:

I remember John saying he had resigned. Once all the other students learned about Rosiegate, the online heckling proved to be too much for him.

  13. howdi says:

I will miss the updates. It must be a huge chore to keep churning them out.

I do enjoy all the comments though, so at least we will have something to keep us going through the summer.

  14. howdi says:

What’s with that nice house of John’s dead gran? Was it left to John in the will? A house like that wouldn’t be kept vacant.

I wish the writers would tighten up some of these story lines. Maybe I just missed it?

By the way, does anyone know if they cut little bits off of the show during the week? It seems like there is more of the show on Sundays.

  15. haili says:

John’s granny’s barely cold in her grave so I doubt if he’s decided what to do with the house yet. It would make sense for him to live in it rather than rent.

My Irish uncle used that phrase “too sweet to be wholesome” and I haven’t heard it for ages. It can be very appropriate at times!

  16. Piper77 says:

I was wondering when Julie lost her job and they seem to have made her character a little bit less annonying and normal. Seems strange how she is now an expert seamstress. Makes me think I could get a job at UnderWorld and I can barely sew a button on!

  17. Piper77 says:

I am also irritated with the whole Harry / Clarissa thing. For the longest time he despised her, then once day in back of the Rovers has a change of heart, has compassion for her and calls the divorce off.

Next time we see him he’s gone back to hating her and still chasing Liz. It’s like that one day (or episode) never existed.

  18. Gayle says:

Piper77, I agree I just don’t get Harry. He acts like he can’t stand Clarissa yet he went back with her. Does she not have a job all she does is go shopping and I don’t think Harry is exactly loaded didn’t he move in with his son? I don’t like this story-line at all.

  19. corrie heart says:

I couldn’t agree more with Piper77 and Gayle. Harry and Clarissa are rapidly becoming an irritating storyline. harry is almost a cartoon character of the husband married to a proverbial ball and chain, while Clarissa plays the nagging, high spending wife. Why on earth did they get back together anyway? That ‘devil you know explanation’ of Harry’s was beyond lame.

    CH

  20. missusmac says:

    John Stape. Maniac.

Now won’t Lloyd be sorry he though he was such a great guy? Times like this, Lloyd shows what a bad judge of character he really is.

Who thinks Janice is going to keep quiet about the tickets? I really can’t believe she’d be that stupid.

  21. corriecrazy says:

I don’t understand why Janice would want to betray her friends that way. Her character hasn’t been that conniving in a long time. Sad to say it, but I think she’ll try to keep the money.

I was never interested in the Harry/Clarissa storyline. I like him and Liz together… But Clarissa is someone the show can do without. Their story doesn’t add up, and you don’t see any emotional connection between Clarissa and Harry like you do see with Liz and Harry.

  22. Trudy says:

Janice’s excuse that her friends didn’t cover for her was lame. She is always ducking out of work and expecting everyone to cover for her.

  23. missusmac says:

I’m liking the Amber/Greasy boy story line. Darryl is growing on me. I particularly liked his line about Amber as she walked by “look at her. She’s all shiney and stuff.” That’s absolutely a young man’s lovelorn call.

Darryl isn’t stupid, he’s just lazy. Amber will make a man out of him!

    • Long time lurker says:

So do I. And is it just me or is he looking a little less greasy these days? You just know that given their age and hopefully plenty of future story lines for both, that this will eventually end up in tears, but for now, it’s lovely to see the two of them together. Hope it lasts for at least a while.

  24. haili says:

I’m just waiting for Lloyd to spill the beans to Clarissa about Liz and Harry. He just can’t keep a secret. Vernon is another one who always makes inappropriate remarks and lets the cat out of the bag.

I hope Janice doesn’t take all the money. Carla was smart enough to ask the dumb one (Julie) about Janice. Julie couldn’t lie for anyone.

  25. eps says:

I have particularly enjoyed the recent break from Gayle, Davis, et. al.
Few folks irritate me as much as that crew.
Whatever happened to weaselly grandfather Morton?
I doubt that Liam and Maria will have much time with Carla Cruella
    welding her wicked witchy wiles.

  26. eps says:

sorry, of course I meant David, not Davis. Can’t believe Tina went back to him. Yuck.

  27. haili says:

I’m enjoying the break from Michelle but kind of miss Steve. It’s nice to get a break from Gail and the gang as we had a bit too much of them for a long time. I enjoy watching Liz and Dierdre and their girly chats. Liz and Clarissa were great with their revenge on Harry.

  28. Tracy Emm says:

Rosie Webster is a piece of work! My goodness I’m not one for violence, but that girl needs a good slap! Nightmare child! Is it possible that she could end up worse than Dreadful David Platt???????

    • Long time lurker says:

Isn’t she though! Poor Kevin, I feel so bad for him, realizing what his daughter has become and, yet, she’s still has daughter. I totally blame Sally for what Rosie has become.

  29. haili says:

Maybe Corrie could have an evil couple: David and Rosie! Double trouble.

  30. Long time lurker says:

Loved the Liz and Clarissa gang-up on Harry – it was priceless! Hope Liz has really seen his true colours and lets him go. On the other hand, he is a very handsome man and I would have liked to see him portrayed as a good guy; a potential suitor for one of the several lovely middle aged women of Corrie.

  31. Bea says:

I love the scenes where Liz and Deirdre get together for their girly chats. “It’s an emergency, I have nothing to wear.” lol

I wanted to hate Harry, but he’s just too good looking. I guess that is close to real life, un-fortunately.

Felt sorry for Liz when she got stood up. Clarissa is just too, I don’t know, (reminded me of high school, I guess). She always seems to win, but I want Liz to win, even though she is a total ditz when it comes to men.

I think Darryl and Amber make a cute couple.

  32. haili says:

Now Harry and Vernon have left and it seems time for new characters soon. Michelle is back – but I didn’t miss her, though it’s nice to see Steve again.

What’s Rosie up to with that hotel room key? Taking a page from Sally’s book?

  33. corriecrazy says:

I do hope that Rosie will have clothes on when they cut to a full shot in tomorrow’s episode. I don’t know what part of her would actually think Tony is interested in an affair. Maybe the foolish child that she is will once again rise to the occasion?

Didn’t miss Michelle much… if at all. And if I may ask, what’s with Ryan’s hair? It was able to apprear greasy and be so stiff at the same time.

Last but not least, I wish they’d speed up whatever affair storyline Liam and Carla seem to be starting fliting and secret meetings. I know they’re about business right now, but they seem to be getting more and more chummy. And Maria doesn’t deserve to be cheated on. Tony, maybe; but Maria, no.

  34. corriecrazy says:

Oops! That bit about Carla and Liam was meant to say “starting with their flirting and secret meetings.” =)

  35. CAPT PAT says:

Maybe Rosie will get ”knocked up” by Tony and that will knock her down to earth and on the next bus out of town, bye bye!!!!

    • Modge says:

I don’t think Tony is stupid enough to touch her – he’s astute enough to realize the potential ramifications. Rosie, although I just love to hate her and would love to smack that superior sneer off of her face, is still in many ways a naive little girl, with no real clue how the world really works.
