Obscure Historical Reference Of The Day

While providing Christmas dinner, Roy compares the waves of people coming in to the cafe to the defence of Rorke’s Drift, where some 150 British servicemen defended against thousands of Zulu warriors that attacked a British outpost and hospital. Eleven Victoria Crosses were awarded for bravery that day, the most in a single day. Michael Caine made his breakout performance in the 1964 movie Zulu, which tells the story of Rorke’s Drift. Two thumbs up from the smurfman.
