Obscure Historical Reference Of The Day

When Gail and Ted are going for a walk around the neighbourhood she expresses concern that it might be too much of an effort for Ted after his recent health scare. He tells Gail that it’s not like they’re climbing the north face of the Eiger, which was one of the last great alpine ascents made in Europe. Heinrich Harrer, portrayed rather poorly by Brad Pitt in the movie Seven Years in Tibet was a member of the first team of climbers to climb the Eiger in 1938. One of the most beautiful spots on earth, in the opinion of the smurfman.
