A Tale of Three Barlows

As it was mentioned in the comments, Ken’s newfound son Lawrence is played by William Roache’s real son, Linus. Linus Roache is one of those actors who’s not a huge star but he shows up in lots of things like Law & Order, Priest, and, in Batman Begins, played Batman’s father, Bat-Dad.

Also, turning up this week is Lawrence’s son, who’s played by James Roache who is also William Roache’s son. In The Road to Coronation Street, James played his father.

So Ken’s son is his real son but his grandson is also his son and his grandson is also Ken. Got that?

Thanks for the info….. mind. blown. 🙂
May Ken remain on the street long enough to see his great grandson join. And may he be as good as the wee lad presently playing Simon Barlow.

Amen to that! Love the Barlows. Miss the Baldwins.

Loved Linus in Law and Order.

  4. Jacqueline says:

    Linus was brilliant in ‘Priest’.

Ken Roache’s life off the show sounds very exciting as well. There seems to be a large age gap between his children… What a neat concept for the show to have his real brood on there. Poor Ken. He looks and sounds like he has it all together, but he’s often no clearer on his life than Graham.

  7. haili says:

Poor Ken can’t get a break. Dierdre and Peter love to criticize all the time and when he finally gets to meet his new son and grandson, Peter puts in the poison. They do seem about as dysfunctional as the rest of the Barlows.

I don’t blame Peter at all. Ken’s always coming up with new offspring. I’d be a little tired of it, too – especially considering that he’s never actually raised any of them (other than stepdaughter Tracey- we won’t go there).

  9. haili says:

Considering what Tracy and Blanche (and sometimes Dierdre) put Ken through, I think Dierdre could either be pleasant for a change or leave. No-one deserves the nastiness he has to put up with. She was the one kissing Lewis and would have gone a lot farther, given the chance.

Ken tried to see the kids in Scotland but most of the time they had other plans. I remember with Daniel there was always something else going on or his mother had made plans so Ken just gave up. He should have been more persistent but Peter and Dierdre are far from perfect. The poor guy should be allowed to enjoy his new son and grandson since neither Dierdre or Peter want to have much to do with him.
