Update and Run

I just realized it’s Sunday night and I haven’t done an update yet. Sorry, it’s been a super busy weekend but I’ll just say that if you have the chance to see Disney on Ice, take it. They have Merida and everything.

So what happened this week?

Oh, Kylie got drunk and fell down but did not lose the baby but now Gail knows and Nick knows that Gail knows and Kylie knows that Nick knows that the baby might be Nick’s. David doesn’t know but will he on Monday? Who knows?

Katy got to go out and be a young woman for a night and her friends are awfully keen on Rye-uhnn.

Gloria came back and her face when she saw Stella and Jason was worth the price of admission. But she has a new fella, a rich guy named Eric but Eric has eyes for Eva because, well, he has eyes. He offers her the chance to run away with her and be a kept woman. She declines and then has a rotten day and changes her mind in front of a shocked Stella.

The details of the memorial service for Flash the Tortoise will be released this week.

What is with Lloyd and Steve pronouncing tortoise in such an odd way, can’t be a Manchester thing. More of those two schemers any road, and more Sylvia too.

Less Gloria though, her character is going in the wrong direction. Another wasted opportunity by the writing staff to have a normal family dynamic in the Rovers. And speaking of cows, Leanne is sure going down that road, her jabs about Kylie were mean considering her own past.

Oh and please tell me a Flyers fan hacked the CorrieCanuck twitter account and posted that rubbish about Sid the Kid. Tracy looked more like a Man U player on that play…. or a Canuck!

I was reading a discussion of this on a British blog and, apparently, “tor-toys” is a fairly common pronunciation of tortoise in Lancashire. I noticed Mandy pronounces it that way too, but Jenna doesn’t.

      • S. Poole says:

Oh aye, thanks. Have to add it to my repertoire of Brit terms used to baffle folk here in Cana-dar. ;p

What is Owen’s problem? He has two kids of his own to pick on, not to mention a grandchild on the way, and he has to but in and try to keep Fay from having a relationship with her own dad. I don’t like it. I don’t like it at all. ;o(

    • Patsy says:

I disagree. Faye’s dad disappeared when she was two. He was not there for her when her mom died. For the last year and a half or so, Owen has been Anna’s live in relationship. He has dealt with some very negative behaviours and has learned to love Faye and support her. Whether he has more children or not really doesn’t enter into this. He has been there, emotionally and financially for Faye. Faye’s dad has been in her life for five minutes. He seems like a nice guy… then why not keep in touch with his girl over the years? We really know nothing about him. Owen is right to be leary on Faye’s behalf. I’m not saying no contact. I’m certainly saying very regulated contact. He’s a stranger.

      • Bea says:

Exactly right, Fay should be supervised when visiting her dad.
I think that Owen is frusterated by a situation he can’t control. He is a bully and his parenting skills are a bit …..lets just say ragged. He has a good heart in his own way, I’ll give him that, but he is making the whole situation into a contest of wills. He isn’t going to force Fay to like him by breaking her things and constantly threatening her.

  3. Bea says:

Plus, where did Fay even get a lap top? I can’t afford a lap top. ;o-
